Odorizzi was pitching well against the Indians until running into trouble in the sixth, and he allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings. He's pitched better of late, as he had a 3.77 ERA in six August outings.
Valdez went five innings in his prior start vs. the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and three walks, fanning three. He’s now 2-1 with a 1.26 ERA in just over 14 MLB innings, but the rookie wants to get deeper into games by improving his control.
