MINNEAPOLIS -- Two days after being called up from Triple-A Rochester for the first time in his career, Eddie Rosario made his Major League debut for the Twins on Wednesday, starting in right field and batting eighth against the A's.
Rosario, ranked by MLBPipeline.com as Minnesota's No. 9 prospect, made the start even though left-hander Scott Kazmir was on the mound for the A's. But the left-handed hitter actually fared better against lefties at Triple-A, batting .286 against them in 35 at-bats compared to .217 in 60 at-bats against right-handers.
Twins manager Paul Molitor said he didn't say much to Rosario before the game, but he talked to him on Tuesday to tell him to be prepared to play on Wednesday.
