'Pen seals Harper's big game as Nats halt skid

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins' offense set a season high in runs scored by the sixth inning, thanks to a three-run first, a five-run second and a seven-run sixth against the Tigers on Thursday at Target Field, as a few key offensive contributors kept up their recent hot streaks. Minnesota surpassed its previous high of 12 runs against the Blue Jays on July 25.

The Twins sent 12 batters to the plate to break the game open in the sixth after the Tigers had clawed back from an early six-run deficit to make it a one-run game. Ehire Adrianza hit a two-run homer, Miguel Sano walked with the bases loaded, Tyler Austin plated a run with a sacrifice fly and Mitch Garver ripped a two-run single.
