NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Kevin Jepsen, acquired from Tampa Bay at the trade deadline, stepped in ably to notch 10 saves in place of an ailing Glen Perkins down the stretch last season.
However, the Twins have already let Perkins, their three-time all-star closer, know the job will again be his once spring training opens.
"We're going to go into it with Glen Perkins," Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Wednesday. "That's what Paul (Molitor) has told him, at the tail end of the season. I believe he has explained that to Jepsen. That seems to make some logic.
