After fading in the second half the past two seasons, Casey Fien hopes the mandatory in-season break he just endured gives him the additional stamina to finish the year strong.
"The last two years, I've had a pretty rough second half," Fien said Friday. "Maybe this will give me the strength to get through September and -- the way it's looking right now -- into October."
The veteran Twins reliever, out since April 29 with a strained deltoid muscle behind his throwing shoulder, was activated off the disabled list Friday for the start of a weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
