Twins fans were devastated for Louis Varland when he was traded to the Blue Jays this season. A hometown boy to his core, all Varland had known was to play professional baseball for Minnesota. It threw him off guard when he was traded, but it was the best thing could have ever happened to him.
Sometimes leaving home is for the best, and Varland proved it. As the go-to relief option for Blue Jays manager John Schneider this postseason, all eyes were on Varland as he entered the game in the top of the fifth inning in Game 7 against the Dodgers.
