Teams reached out to the Twins with interest in catcher Ryan Jeffers before the July 31 trade deadline, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Jeffers, 28, is under team control through next season.
Heyman went on to say that Jeffers, who is slashing .272/.356/.418 with eight homers and 39 RBIs this season, is now a winter trade candidate. Jeffers hasn't been a great defender this year, ranking in the 30th percentile in framing, but has nonetheless been a valuable player for the Twins as an above-average hitter at a premium position.
