From the archives: The story behind Brian Dozier's MLB debut

At some point this season, it seemed inevitable that Brian Dozier would make his major league debut. And yet, when the 24-year-old found out on Saturday, May 5, that he was about to join the Twins, Dozier did so as the victim of some hijinks from Triple-A Rochester manager Gene Glynn.

Dozier was building himself a Cinco de Mayo taco after the Red Wings' game on Saturday when he heard Glynn tell pitcher Scott Diamond he was headed for the majors. The shortstop congratulated Diamond when Glynn said - almost as though he'd forgotten something - "Oh yeah, Dozier, pack your bags; you're going with him.
