Ex-Twin likely to break MLB postseason record in World Series Game 7 after tying feat

When Blue Jays righty Louis Varland entered World Series Game 6 against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the seventh inning to relieve starting pitcher Kevin Gausman, who allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks while collecting eight strikeouts, the former Twin tied Brandon Morrow (2017) and Paul Assenmacher (1997) for the most games pitched (14) in a single postseason. Varland went on to have a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout and induced a flyout to Miguel Rojas in the eighth before being replaced by Mason Fluharty. The Blue Jays went on to lose the game by a score of 3-1 in epic fashion to force a Game 7.
