Eddie Rosario closing in on Tony Oliva’s record

The Minnesota Twins offense erupted for 10 runs last night in their one run victory over the Cleveland Indians. Taking part in the offensive outburst was rookie outfielder, Eddie Rosario.

Rosario hit a pair of triples and drove in one run in last night’s victory. He now has eight triples on the season and is one triple shy of tying Tony Oliva’s record for triples in a season by a Twins rookie.

Back in 1964, Oliva hit nine triples in 161 games his rookie season. In 2015, Rosario has hit eight triples in 74 games. With 53 games left in the season Rosario will likely break Oliva’s 51 year-old record.
