DETROIT -- The Twins coasted through seven innings Wednesday night at Comerica Park. They got an early lead and were boosted by one of Jose Berrios' best starts of the season. But Minnesota stopped hitting and Berrios couldn't throw nine innings. And when the Tigers mounted a comeback with a four-run eighth inning, hot starts and superb pitching were just memories in a 5-2 loss.
Addison Reed took the mound in the eighth with a 2-1 lead. He retired Victor Martinez for the first out but then allowed three consecutive singles to tie the game.
