Wolves Assign Adreian Payne to Erie BayHawks of NBA Development League

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the club has assigned forward Adreian Payne to the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League pursuant to the Flexible Assignment Rule.

Payne has appeared in 30 games with the Wolves this season, averaging 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.5 minutes per game. The Wolves originally acquired the 6-10 forward from Atlanta via trade on February 10, 2015. Payne played in 29 games last season for the Wolves, registering averages of 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest.

The NBA D-League’s flexible assignment system enables the 11 independent NBA teams, including the Wolves, to assign players to the NBA D-League for development or rehabilitation from injury.
