Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards just wants to 'win and have fun'

After the best game of his first NBA season, Wolves rookie Anthony Edwards was asked if games like he had Wednesday — 42 points on 17-for-22 shooting, six rebounds, seven assists in a 139-135 loss to Memphis at Target Center — were the types of performances that could earn him respect around the league.

His answer: Who cares?

He doesn't.

"I don't really care about earning anybody's respect,'' Edwards said. "I just want to go out and win and have fun and play basketball.''

With the league's rookie of the year race presumably narrowed to Edwards and Charlotte's LaMelo Ball, Edwards has already earned a bunch of the respect he claims not to care about.
