Shootaround Access - Oct. 7 | Wolves vs. Thunder

Less than two years after Zach LaVine was thought of as a border-line lottery pick, here he is, starting at shooting guard for an NBA team.

Interim head coach Sam Mitchell announced yesterday to Sirius XM Radio that LaVine will be the team’s starting shooting guard, but according to LaVine, Mitchell told him the news about a week ago.

“Everyone wants to start,” LaVine said during Wednesday’s shootaround. “I feel like I came in and proved I should come in and contribute to the team and it’s coach’s decision no matter what… Just go out there and compete.
