Last April, the Minnesota TImberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets in an overtime thriller to clinch the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Nuggets underachieved a year ago, largely due to untimely injuries and depth issue. But this year, they’re within two weeks of the All-Star break and tied with Golden State for the No. 1 spot in the West with a sparkling 36-15 record.
Denver has won seven of their last eight games and beat James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Friday night by 14 points.
The Timberwolves, on the other hand, have had two days off after squeaking out an ugly overtime win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night at Target Center.
