Minnesota Timberwolves: What to do with Gorgui Dieng

Last season, Gorgui Dieng played the exact same minutes per game as he did in his rookie season. With youth and rejuvenation the clear trend with the Minnesota Timberwolves, there is very little space for Gorgui to fit in.

Dieng has two years left on the deal that he signed in fall of 2017. With the annual contract value increasing each year, the 2020-21, campaign clocks in at roughly $17.2 million. For the Timberwolves, that is money that could go otherwise towards a top-tier free-agent or support on the wing.

We’ve covered the predicament with Dieng previously (here and here), but the though here is that the Wolves have several paths for Dieng going forward.
