Justin Patton: The good, the bad and the ugly

Justin Patton is somewhat of an afterthought in Minnesota. He was acquired as part of the trade for Jimmy Butler, but most people toss him to the side. Part of that has to do with the foot injury he suffered this summer (more on that later), but also because of the increased attention on veterans and immediate contributions.

After redshirting his first year at Creighton, the 6-foot-11 center came back with a vengeance in 2016-17. He dropped 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game last season. His scoring increased slightly during conference play, where he averaged 13.
