As Timberwolves close on one No. 1 pick, another may be out the door

It's not all Anthony Bennett's fault.

He didn't make himself the surprise No. 1 overall pick in 2013. He didn't will the injuries that cost him chunks of his first two seasons, nor was he responsible for the replacement-level rosters around him or for his own coaching and development.

But if the Wolves' upcoming top pick brims with the promise of all that can go right in building a team, Bennett has been the embodiment of what can go wrong.

As the Wolves prepare to select their own No. 1 pick, they're reportedly trying to ship Bennett out.
