The Minnesota Golden Gophers are no longer in search of a new head coach.

On Wednesday, the university announced that Tracy Claeys would have the interim label removed from his title after agreeing to a three-year deal to become the new Gophers head coach.

“I want to thank President Eric Kaler, Interim Athletic Director Beth Goetz, the Board of Regents and the University for believing in me and providing me with this opportunity,” said Claeys. “The circumstances of the past few weeks have been unpredictable. This certainly is not the way anyone wants to become a head coach.
