A former three-star recruit out of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Fitzgerald averaged 5.4 points and shot 35.4 percent from the field over 12.6 minutes per game over his two seasons with the Aggies. Over that stretch, Texas A&M went 39-28 (19-17 SEC) and did not make the NCAA Tournament.

After sitting out a year, per NCAA transfer rules, Fitzgerald will join a Golden Gophers squad that is headed in the right direction under head coach Richard Pitino, son of Hall of Famer and Louisville head coach Rick.
