As if Richard Pitino didn't have enough to worry about going into the University of Minnesota's season opener next week with one of the youngest basketball teams in the Big Ten.
The Gophers' third-year coach suspended freshman point guard Kevin Dorsey for Friday's 81-64 exhibition win against Southwest Minnesota State for academic reasons.
Pitino also had two of his starters, Charles Buggs and Gaston Diedhiou, leave the game briefly after getting hurt, which made the Gophers even more shorthanded inside.
They already were without center Bakary Konate, who has been out a few weeks with a stress fracture.
