St. Cloud State coach Bob Motzko is resigning to take the same position at Minnesota, the Minneapolis-Star Tribune is reporting today, citing sources.
Don Lucia stepped down as head coach of the Gophers last week after 19 on the job. Motzko has been the head coach at St. Cloud since 2005, which followed a four-year stint under Lucia at Minnesota, where the two teamed up to win a pair of national championships.
Motzko, how just turned 57 years old, will be replacing the 59-year old Lucia.
