Rachel Banham's foul trouble dooms Gophers women in loss to Michigan

There is probably no player in the Big Ten more important to her team than Rachel Banham is to the Gophers.

That was obvious as when the senior guard sat for the entire second quarter with foul trouble Sunday against Michigan.

Minnesota wasn't very competitive until Banham returned in the second half to nearly erase a 17-point deficit, but it wasn't enough for the Gophers in a 93-86 loss to the Wolverines at Williams Arena.

Banham seemed to still be getting her legs back from a career-high-tying 39-point game with a school-record 10 three-pointers in Thursday's 106-75 victory over Illinois.
