The Gophers have received a commitment from Cincinnati, Ohio cornerback Tamarion Crumpley. The 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back held offers from Maryland, Kentucky, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and others, according to 24/7 Sports.
Crumpley, a three-star prospect, is the third defensive back to join the 2021 class. Minnesota recently received commitments from four-star cornerbacks Steven Ortiz Jr. and Avante Dickerson. Crumpley brings another type of skill set to the table.
He has the athletic profile and size to be a physical press-man corner for the Gophers. Crumpley can jam players on the perimeter and redirect routes. He consistently made plays on the ball and features the size/length to get into passing lanes.
