North Dakota's second straight NCHC regular-season championship was recognized by the team and a sellout crowd of 11,848 following an 8-1 dismantling of Western Michigan. But it's clear that UND, No. 2 in the Pairwise and now 27-5-3 overall, has the big picture in mind.
That would be dead aim on the school's eighth NCAA title, the last one for UND coming in 2000.
"I thought the guys from the drop of the puck, they were ready to go," UND coach Brad Berry said.
