On Monday afternoon the University of Minnesota and City of Minneapolis learned that their joint bid to host a NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four had been accepted, and the 2022 Women’s Final Four will take place at Target Center on April 1st and 3rd, 2022. It will be the second time that the Target Center has hosted the biggest event in NCAA Women’s basketball—they previously hosted the Final Four in 1995 won by—who else UConn.
The process had been ongoing for a good portion of 2018 with the U of M hosting the bid committee and Lindsay Whalen filming a video for the Minneapolis bid.
