The Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s tennis team will take on the #3 seed Ohio State Buckeyes in the round of 16 in the NCAA Tennis Tournament on Friday. The Gophers and Buckeyes will try and advance to the round of eight which will take place on Sunday. The remainder of the NCAA Tournament will take place on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem North Carolina.
The Gophers will enter the round of 16 after back to back upset wins in the Norman, Oklahoma Regional. The #37 ranked Gophers defeated #19 Georgia in the first round by a 4-3 tally before sweeping the home #14 Oklahoma Sooners in the second round 4-0.
