The Gopher Softball Team clinched the outright Regular Season Big Ten Championship with a 14-1 win over Penn State on Saturday. Its the Gophers first Regular Season Big Ten Championship since 1991. The Gophers also clinched the #1 overall seed in the Big Ten Tournament next weekend at Michigan. The win also moved the Gophers record to 50-3 on the season, and continued to extend both the school; record for wins in a season, and the Gophers consecutive win record which now sits at 21 consecutive victories.
Minnesota had to wait out a 30 minute rain delay, but they wasted no time getting to work after the false start.
