Thursday in Boston, the Gophers got the dream start against Minnesota State by getting an early goal. If there was any chance to win the game, that had to happen. The only problem — nothing much else good happened. As the Mavericks got out of their defensive shell to respond in the early going, Minnesota was just unable to retaliate.
