The son of Scott Annexstad, who played football for the Gophers from 1982-83, Zack declined scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, and Western Kentucky for the opportunity to walk on at Minnesota and compete for the starting quarterback spot.
