Jerry Kill 'fiery as ever' about epilepsy awareness

Vicki Kopplin had a impassioned phone conversation with retired Gophers coach Jerry Kill late Tuesday night.

"He's as fiery as ever," said Kopplin, executive director of the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota.

Kill, who stepped down as coach Oct. 28 for health reasons tied to his epilepsy, will be at Saturday's game between Minnesota and Wisconsin at TCF Bank Stadium. The Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe is also the Epilepsy Awareness Game, now in its fourth season.

"I've never doubted for a moment that his work and commitment to his Chasing Dreams Fund would stop," Kopplin said.
