We now know who the Gophers will be playing at P.J. Fleck’s first Homecoming game as Minnesota’s head coach.
This isn’t a huge shock. The only other viable opponents for Homecoming were Maryland on 9/30 and Michigan State on 10/14. Minnesota typically avoids September Homecoming games whenever possible and if you have to choose between Michigan State and Illinois, well, obviously you pick Illinois.
