Here's the story behind the Gophers lost/not lost Florida recruit

Dredrick Snelson, who gave the Gophers football team an oral commitment for the 2016 class, didn't include Minnesota in his new list of finalists, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Tuesday.

Snelson, a four-star receiver from Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Fla., said his new contenders are Penn State, Miami (Fla.), Central Florida and Maryland, the newspaper said.

Snelson said he will make his final decision on national signing day on Feb. 3.

Snelson committed to Minnesota in August, but has since received increased interest from those four other schools.

Snelson visited Central Florida last weekend and plans to visit Maryland this weekend, with a new trip scheduled to Penn State on Jan.
