The Minnesota offense took till their third possession to have positive yardage while Iowa scored on their first two possessions.
Gopher offense got into a rhythm on their third possession highlighted by a Chris Autman-Bell 36-yard reception and was capped by a Rashod Bateman 3-yard fade in the end zone. This cut the lead to 14-7. Iowa scored again on a fake field goal, Minnesota kicked a field goal on their ensuing possession making the score 21-10.
But Iowa drove on their final possession, taking just 27 seconds before Nate Stanley hit Nick Easley for a 21-yard touchdown.
