When Milica McMillen first developed her slap shot in peewee hockey, she didn't just rifle it at the net, she rifled it at the opposing team.
The University of Minnesota senior defenseman used to play with a bit of a temper, which earned her plenty of time in the box in high school.
"I'd get 80 (penalty) minutes a year in 25 games, which is not a great percentage," McMillen said. "I think I've tried to tame that down a bit."
The St. Paul native has never hit 80 penalty minutes in a season with the Gophers, though she did lead the team in penalties each of her first three years.
