Rachel Banham went 6 for 9 on three-point attempts and scored 30 points, lifting the Gophers women's basketball team to a 91-64 victory over Maine on Friday night at Williams Arena.
Banham had a hot first quarter, hitting 6 of 9 three-point shots and scoring 16 points as Minnesota (2-0) took a 26-20 lead. She finished 10 for 15 from the floor and pulled to within 55 points of Lindsay Whalen's all-time school scoring record of 2,285 points from 2000-04.
Sophomore Jessie Edwards added 15 points and 16 rebounds in her second career start for Minnesota. Carlie Wagner scored 23 points and Mikayla Bailey 11.
