Gophers women's basketball: Rachel Banham scores 24 in win

The Gophers women's basketball team went inside in the fourth quarter, scoring 22 points in the paint, to post an 85-73 victory over Kent State on Tuesday night at Kent, Ohio.

Minnesota guard Rachel Banham scored 24 points, 17 of them in the fourth quarter, and pulled within 31 points of breaking Lindsay Whalen's all-time Gophers scoring record. Banham has 2,255 points.

Carlie Wagner added 18 points and Joanna Hedstrom scored a career-high 11 points off the bench for Minnesota (3-0). Shayne Mullaney had 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Jessie Edwards had 10 points and four blocked shots.
