Gophers sweep Wisconsin as Michael Brodzinski hat trick leads 9-2 rout

Michael Brodzinski scored three goals -- the first hat trick by a Gophers defenseman in nine years -- to lead Minnesota to a 9-2 rout at Wisconsin.

The Gophers (13-0, 8-2 Big Ten) got points from 16 players in their first series sweep of the Badgers in Madison since 2006.

Hudson Fasching scored 12 seconds into the game for Minnesota, which jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period and maintained at least a three-goal advantage the rest of the way.

Leon Bristedt had a goal and two assists, as nine Gophers scored multiple points.
