Gophers football coach Jerry Kill sat his players down Sunday for a chat about how they can fix the mistakes they made in a disappointing 10-7 victory Saturday over Kent State.
Among the revelations: offensive players believed they were "playing tight" and suggested that quizzes on the game plan after practice could help execution, starting Saturday against Ohio (3-0) at TCF Bank Stadium.
"It's kind of like talking to your kid," Kill said. "You've got to figure out why he's struggling in math, so you just talk to him."
The Gophers (2-1) were held under 300 yards total offense for only the second time in the past seven games.
