Gophers quarterback Mitch Leidner said Saturday's Big Ten opener between No. 16 Northwestern and unranked Minnesota should be a matchup between two ranked teams.
"No doubt, we should be (ranked)," said Leidner, who passed for a career-high 264 yards in Saturday's 27-24 comeback victory over Ohio.
The Gophers (3-1) will get the chance to prove they're a top 25 team against the Wildcats (4-0) in Evanston, Ill.
"It's a good opportunity to show people what we can do," Leidner said Tuesday. "We're all really excited about it. I know no one is scared or anything like that.
