When he first arrived at the University of Minnesota a few years ago, Charles Buggs said he could jump from the free-throw line to dunk the basketball.
"I haven't tried that in a while," he said. "I used to be able to do that. But I'm like 230 now. I got a little bit bigger. Knee isn't the same. And I'm getting older.
The Gophers' 6-foot-9 junior is still considered one of the most athletic players in the Big Ten, but he wants to be known for more than just dunking this season.
Buggs, who will start his second exhibition game at small forward Friday against Southwest Minnesota State, isn't afraid to let it fly from three-point range.
