When new Baltimore Ravens tight end Maxx Williams returned to Minnesota this offseason, the former Gophers All-America tight end treated everyone in his old position group to dinner at a steakhouse.
On the field this season, the Gophers will have plenty of players seated at the table trying to fill up the production Williams provided.
Williams, who was selected 55th overall in May's NFL draft, was the runaway receiving leader for the Gophers last season with 36 catches for 569 yards and eight touchdowns.
Players in the running to help fill that void include senior Lincoln Plsek, redshirt sophomore Nate Wozniak and sophomore Brandon Lingen.
