The Gophers 2016 football recruiting class landed another Minnesota player Sunday afternoon.
Minneapolis North quarterback Tyler Johnson, who is ranked as the state's No. 2 player, announced on Twitter he has committed to the University of Minnesota.
"Thank you to all the colleges that recruited me," he tweeted from the account @T_muhneyy10. "But I'm ... excited to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota to further my education and football career. #BrickByBrick."
Johnson is listed at 6 feet, 2 inches and 179 pounds..
The three-star recruit also had offers from Iowa, Wisconsin, Iowa State and North Dakota State.
