Josh Campion, projected to be the Gophers' starting left offensive tackle, will not play Thursday night against second-ranked Texas Christian.
Campion was listed on Minnesota's two-deep roster Tuesday night, but did not suit up for warmups Thursday at TCF Bank Stadium.
Campion had been moved from right guard to left tackle when Ben Lauer had minor knee surgery earlier in training camp.
Lauer was listed as Campion's backup and now is the presumed starter.
Gophers coach Jerry Kill said Tuesday that he expected Lauer to play Thursday.
