Around 200 coaches inquired about the Gophers' two vacant staff positions in the weeks following the regular season.
Gophers coach Tracy Claeys cordially replied to all the candidates, but said he entered the hiring process with two or three prospects already in the crosshairs.
Minnesota introduced Lakeville native Jay Johnson as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach and Bart Miller as offensive line coach at a news conference Friday afternoon at the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex.
"Both of these guys were on our original list," Claeys said. "We ended up getting the search done a little faster than what I originally thought, but at the same time, I think we got the right fit.
