Gophers quarterback Mitch Leidner walked onto the podium for his news conference Saturday with a protective boot on his left foot.
He had a bounce in his step, though, after Minnesota beat Illinois 32-23 at TCF Bank Stadium.
Leidner's Gophers (5-6, 2-5) will play rival Wisconsin (8-3, 5-2) next Saturday not only for Paul Bunyan's Axe but Minnesota's bowl eligibility.
"Nothing is keeping me from that game," Leidner said. "Gotta get healthy this week, though."
After four consecutive games with 250-plus passing yards, Leidner threw for 88 yards and rushed for 64, including a career-high 33-yard carry in the first quarter.
