The Gophers' go-ahead touchdown in the final minute of regulation against Colorado State was scripted to go to wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky.
Then KJ Maye got involved.
After a timeout with 1:02 left, the Gophers went back to a play call that received a vulnerable look from the Rams defensive backs earlier in the game. Given the wide receiver corps, Wolitarsky was going to be the go-to guy.
"KJ was like, 'No, I'm taking this one,' " quarterback Mitch Leidner said. "I just looked out there, and KJ was pushing him in. Wally was like (throwing up his arms).
