Gophers senior wide receiver KJ Maye was selected Thursday to play in the Senior Bowl in his native Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 30.
After an impactful season at Minnesota, Maye will play in the all-star showcase held at Ladd-Pebbles Stadium, where he played home games for Murphy High School.
"Bringing him home is special," Senior Bowl scout Patrick Woo said.
Maye had 73 receptions -- with 45 grabs resulting in a first down or touchdown -- for 773 receiving yards and five TD receptions.
Maye's single-season totals for catches and receiving yards are both in second place behind Eric Decker's program records.
