The Gophers are closing in on a sellout for their Sept. 3 opener at TCF Bank Stadium with just under 400 tickets remaining for the Thursday night game against No. 2 Texas Christian, interim athletics director Beth Goetz said Thursday afternoon.
"I've got a countdown going," Goetz said. "It's going to be rocking at TCF Bank Stadium, for sure. It's going to be a great place, great atmosphere."
The last announced sellout for a Gophers nonconference football game was in 2012, for a 17-10 victory over Syracuse. TCF Bank Stadium's capacity increased from 50,805 to 52,525 in 2014 to accommodate Vikings games.
