The Gophers and Colorado State couldn't have played more contrasting opponents in the opening week of the college football season.
National-title aspirant and then-second-ranked Texas Christian outlasted Minnesota 23-17 on Thursday, while Colorado State throttled FCS doormat Savannah State 65-13 on Saturday.
Now, the Gophers insist, they have a stiff test with the Rams on Saturday afternoon in Fort Collins, Colo. Colorado State was 10-3 in 2014 but has a new quarterback in Nick Stevens and a new head coach in Mike Bobo, the former offensive coordinator at Georgia.
The Gophers will have to get used to preparing for new or varied schemes this season.
